Credits and jobs

Page history last edited by elysium.roleplay@... 1 yr ago

Credits are the monetary form on the ship. Residents get a weekly allowance of credits to spend on whatever they want. The weekly allowance isn't big, but it's generally enough to get the essentials like food and toiletries, maybe an outfit or two, a toy or gift, and that's about it. Credits are usually kept in a magnetized ID card that holds the bearer's name on it (this card also functions as their key card to get to their place). Luxury items are expensive.

Luxury Items, whut?

Self-explanatory. Luxury items are are things which aren't needed to survive. Examples of this include: games (video games), nice or designer clothes, cigarettes, etc. Again, these sorts of items are expensive. Characters who choose not to get a job should watch their spending. If a character buys anything and their credits are insufficient, they will be turned away.

ID cards?

ID cards look like this. They include the character's name, brief personal information, their photo, and a barcode. The card itself is essentially a credit card (and a key card to their place). It is only the means of using credits. Muses can replace lost cards, but it is an annoying process and usually involves the Captain and his staff laughing at your muse. You as the mun can get your muse an ID by leaving a message here.

Jobs

Jobs are available to the characters that desire them and can either be full-time (40 hrs a week) or part-time (32 hrs a week or less). Residents are allowed to work in almost any shop on the Olympus deck as well as some house-keeping jobs. Residents may choose a job, but the job must be approved by the Captain (i.e. mod-approved). Most places have a worker limit, so there is a chance of denial. The other method is to go to Kamikaze Staffing, the local temp employment agency.

Kamikaze Staffing

The agency is run by the Captain's staff. They claim that the placement will be accurate, but the true result is that the resident will be placed wherever the mods find most amusing. Also note that any character who obtains a position through this agency are not allowed to quit for another position.

Fired?

If somehow your character is fired from their job, they are placed on a 1-month job probation and must live off their normal weekly allowance credits for the time being. They may whine, moan, and bitch all they want but this is not changing. :D Characters who get fired from a job that was obtained through the temp agency... well... I don't think any of us wants to find out.

Extra Credits

The actual amount of credits earned is unspecified but universal across all jobs. If you have a character that's been waiting to buy something expensive or if they want to plan some sort of party, this is what you'd want to use those extra credits for.
